Telephone Adapter
The Phlink Telephone Adapter is a small USB device that plugs into one of your Mac's USB ports on one side, and to an analog telephone cable on the other side.
Using the Telephone Adapter, Ovolab Phlink can interface with the telephone line. It also recognizes Caller ID if such service is available from your telephone company. Caller ID has been successfully tested in the US, in Europe (including UK, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands), Australia, Singapore, South Korea, and is being tested in other countries.
If you have an ISDN phone line or digital phone system, you can still use the Phlink Telephone Adapter by plugging it into the POTS port of your terminal adapter (TA) or of your digital phone. That's the port to which you would normally connect regular, analog phones or analog fax machines.
Some telephone companies provide a TA as part of their service; check with your local telephone company for details. In general, if you can use any regular, analog telephone on your line, you can also use the Phlink Telephone Adapter.
Similarly, the Phlink Telephone Adapter also works when connected to Vonage lines and other IP-based services which provide an analog telephone connection.
